After more than 48 years of existence, Carnaval San Francisco & other CANA projects and partners will finally have a lifetime permanent casa to call home at 683 Florida Street in the Mission District of San Francisco.
The Indigenous Peoples Cultural Arts Healing Center (IPCAHC) will cost $7.9 million to build out and purchase the space and install equipment, $2.7 million of which have already been raised— we just need $5 million left to raise!

At the height of the pandemic San Francisco’s Latinx COVID-19 infections accounted for over 40% of the total cases in our city. That is more than three times the rate of the 15% share of San Francisco’s Latino population.
Most of those families cannot apply for unemployment or lack full public benefits. The Mission Food Hub (MFH) is feeding people who would go hungry without our mutual support.
Children, elders, immigrants, the disabled, and families suffering with COVID-19 are particularly hard hit. Together we can humbly address our community’s need for food today. Please donate generously!
Carnaval San Francisco
Donating to the annual Carnaval San Francisco Festival and Grand Parade helps keep a joyful legacy alive for families and communities across the Bay Area. Carnaval SF is free for everyone, which means families of all backgrounds can come together to enjoy music, dance, food, and art without cost being a barrier. As the largest and longest-running multicultural celebration on the West Coast, the festival brings people closer to the rich cultures of Latin America, the Caribbean, and beyond.
Your donation supports the organization, local artists, dancers, and musicians, and helps pass these traditions on to the next generation. By giving, you are helping families connect, celebrate culture, and create lasting memories together.
Immigrant Relief Emergency Fund
We all have seen the recent attacks on our immigrant community. ICE raids and arrests conducted. Immigrants are facing a rising wave of violence, hate, and discrimination — simply for seeking a better life. These attacks tear families apart, spread fear, and undermine the values of dignity and equality. We have seen people not able to go to work, children missing out on summer activities, many staying at home for fear for their lives. We believe everyone deserves to live in safety, regardless of where they come from.
In response, CANA held a series of meeting with members of our community who are most impacted and have created an IMMIGRANT EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND to provide immediate financial support for urgent, time sensitive needs, and emergencies they have identified. These funds, as our rapid response to this crisis, are designed to be flexible and quick to distribute for food, medical, clothing, transport service and other emergencies.

Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble
Founded in 2001 by Grammy-nominated musician and educator John Calloway, Ph.D., together with co-founders Arturo Riera and Sylvia Ramirez, the Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble of San Francisco (LJYE) is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of Latin jazz musicians. From its very first performance — opening for Poncho Sanchez just days after September 11 — the ensemble has stood as a symbol of resilience, excellence, and hope for the future of the music.
LJYE treats young performers not as “kids,” but as musicians. The program provides free, high-level music education and performance opportunities to students ages 10-18 at a time when arts programs are steadily disappearing from public schools. Students rehearse and perform at a professional standard, developing confidence, discipline, and creative voice through original compositions and live performance.

Cultural Arts and Health Education Program
Support Our Cultural Arts & Health Education Program! For more than 20 years, Carnaval San Francisco has empowered young people through arts, culture, movement, and community. Since launching our Cultural Arts & Health Education Program in 2002, we have partnered with schools across San Francisco to provide culturally rooted dance, drumming, music, and arts education to more than 9,000 students.
Our program brings professional teaching artists into schools and community spaces where students learn traditional dance, percussion, history, and cultural practices that celebrate the diverse communities of the Mission District and the Bay Area. Through these experiences, youth build confidence, strengthen their physical and emotional well-being, develop leadership skills, and deepen their connection to their cultural heritage.
Throughout the school year and during our summer programming, students participate in hands-on arts education, creative expression, and wellness activities that encourage teamwork, discipline, and pride in their identities. Many of our students culminate their experience by performing in the annual Carnaval San Francisco Grand Parade, sharing their talents with thousands of community members.
Together, we are preserving cultural traditions, investing in youth leadership, and strengthening our community for generations to come.

Podcast Equipment Fundraiser for New CANA Space
Support us in raising $10,000 for our new Podcast Studio! Your donation will help us purchase microphones such as the Shure SM58, Shure Podcasting Mics and Lavalier Mics, as well as a Rodecaster Pro Audio Mixer, Zoom H6 portable multichannel recorder, Mic stands, a Sony Alpha 2 DSLR, and more.
Our Indigenous Peoples Cultural Arts Healing Center (IPCAHC) aka Casa de Carnaval will be home to 16 cultural arts groups, The Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble of San Francisco and youth in our community seeking a safe artistic space. This gear will be used to train young people in recording arts as well as to create podcasts documenting the art, culture and Indigenous healing practices created at our new center.

Recording Studio Fundraiser for New CANA Space
Support us in raising $50,000 for our new Recording Studio!
We are launching a brand-new recording studio in the Indigenous Peoples Cultural Arts Healing Center (IPCAHC) – the new home of CANA and its annual Carnaval event.
CANA launched the healing center in part to provide a community space where youth and local artists can produce, collaborate, and amplify their voices. This space will provide affordable access to state-of-the-art equipment, mentorship programs, and industry workshops, ensuring that emerging musicians, podcasters, and storytellers have the resources they need to thrive.
The center’s studio production room is built out and ready for the installation of equipment. Your donation will help us purchase speakers, audio interfaces, instruments, and software to train young people in recording arts as well as to create podcasts, documenting the art, culture and Indigenous healing practices created at our new center.
